This is where initiatives like Stellar Dreams come into play.

Launched by The Science Haven, Stellar Dreams aims to provide 100 beginner-friendly telescopes to socioeconomically disadvantaged students across the United States. But this initiative goes beyond simply providing scientific tools. It seeks to ignite curiosity, foster a love for learning, and inspire dreams as vast as the universe itself. Each telescope, priced at around $150, is an investment in the future of America.

In addition to gifting telescopes, Stellar Dreams also provides recipient families with the opportunity to join a junior astronomer training program, which incorporates culturally responsive instruction to guide families on using their telescope, exploring the cosmos, and participating in citizen science research in astronomy.
